Music has healing power. It has the ability to take people out of themselves for a few hours.

Muser: Biometric-empowered music therapy

cr. Yujie Wang

One Purpose:

Promote wellness through music

Music is clinically proven to be effective in treating, managing and coping with anxiety disorders. In a pharmaceutical society, music therapy offers wellness options that are therapeutic, non-invasive, and promote independent coping.

Muser is invented to help achieve an effective, independent coping strategy for anxiety disorders by scientific means.

The Value Gap

Whilst the proven value of music therapies, practice of music therapeutics often lacks data to optimise treatments for patients. “Current music therapy is observation-based and lacks quantitative tools to quantify, manage, and improve the real-time effectiveness.”

Furthermore, the current way of practice lacks a holistic & consistent understanding of patient’s conditions and actionable information between intermittent clinical visits.

Technology

Biometrics-enabled

Data Analytics

  • User Profiling/Segmenting: summarize user’s demographic information and preferences for music
  • Events Tracking: automatically collect data of user’ behaviours inside the app
  • Metrics Design: compute metrics for music recommendation and user experience based on search ranking, music save list, clickstream and time spent on app features
  • A/B Testing: test variations on new features
  • Data Warehousing and Maintenance: store and manage the data in a data lake (MongoDB/Hadoop/Redshift)
  • Insight Visualization: monitor and interact with workflows through an intuitive user interface/dashboards (Shiny UI)
